Thrill seekers, explorers, and party enthusiasts across the globe are rubbing their palms in anticipation of Nyege Nyege, arguably, the biggest fiesta on the African continent, and one of most unique festivals in the world.
The four-day jamboree returns bigger and better this year, bringing the experience to the Source of the Nile, right in the heart of Jinja City, from 9th to 12th November.
At the heart of mass, merrymaking will also be closely contested “rivalry,” as different beverage brands contest for bragging rights for the most vibrant and booming stage setup.
Smirnoff is set to bring a new bag of tricks to the Nyege Nyege stage space, following its dominant display during last year’s edition at the Itanda Falls.
This year, the Uganda Breweries Ltd brand is set to bring its trademark siesta to Nyege Nyege through a customized wonderland, right by the Source of the Nile, under the theme “We do we”.
Last year, Smirnoff made a grand comeback to NyegeNyege offering revellers an edgy experience, delighting them in its signature flavorful drinks and colorful stage set-up.
Smirnoff edged a tight contest between the event’s main stage and other beverage brands, attracting a high number of merrymakers while playing various genres of music.
The brand extended a stiff challenge to other competitors through its karaoke sessions, vibrant stage lighting, and DJs spinning decks like they were possessed by the proverbial Nyege Nyege spirit itself.
The experience Smirnoff offered during its grand comeback was draped in vibrant red colours of Smirnoff Ice, featuring a stage and dancefloor area where revellers had ample and picturesque spaces to enjoy different sets being played by the lineup of diverse and talented DJs.
DJs KashPro, Mac DJ, DJ Bugy, DJ Virtual, House DJ and Calvin from the Bantu Vibes were relentless on their decks that at many points, competition from other brand stages, including the main festival stage, were muffled out.
Revellers were treated to a beach-themed chill area for people to relax and enjoy while delighting themselves in group games such as Jenga. MCs like Hypeman and Casmir kept working their talents on the microphone to see to it that the vibration at the tent never lost its momentum.
According to Judie Nandekya, the Smirnoff brand manager, Smirnoff tailors its experiences for customers looking for an edge through which they can unleash their free spirit.
“As a brand, we tailor our experiences for consumers looking to unleash their free spirit and the essence that gives them an edge in life as they have a good time. Nyege Nyege is the perfect opportunity for us to do exactly that for those unafraid to live with a lot of flavor,” she said.
As the fun shifts to the highly spiritual source of the Nile, the battle for the most supreme stage is only bound to get more vicious as Smirnoff eagerly anticipates to defend its crown.
