The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has published a list of the owners of the 16 top-flight football clubs in Uganda.
According to the list published by FUFA, KCCA FC, URA FC, and UPDF FC are all 100% owned by their respective entities, namely the Kampala Capital City Authority, Uganda Revenue Authority, and Uganda People’s Defense Forces.
Former FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa is the majority owner of Kitende-based Vipers Sports Club, possessing a 90% stake in the club. Meanwhile, Thadeus Kitandwe and Haruna Koybe each own 5% of the club.
The ownership of Express FC is a collaborative effort, with a total of 11 individuals sharing ownership. This group includes notable names like Vincent Bbale Mugera, Godfrey Kirumira Kalule, Samuel Kiryowa Kiwanuka, Francis Kabonge Buwule, and Jackson Monday Mugalu, among others.
Sports Club Villa, one of the most decorated clubs in the history of the Uganda Premier League, is owned by the Registered Trustees of Villa Members Trust. This body includes key figures like Dusman Kabega, Fredrick Ivan Kawuma, Moses Matovu, William Nkemba, Francisco Mugabe, Omar Ahmed Mandela, and Gerald Ssendaula.
Maroons FC finds its ownership in the hands of the Uganda Prison Services, while Bul FC is privately owned by individuals Barente Ronald and Yesho Titus.
Arua Hill’s ownership is attributed to Development Infrastructure LTD, and Wakiso Giants is owned by Lule Hassan and Ahmed Mbabi.
