Ugandan singers Eddy Kenzo and Jose Chameleone have earned spots on the Grammys’ consideration list.
For Kenzo, this recognition follows his Grammy nomination last year. His songs “Ukulele Esanyu” featuring Daniel Ho, “Positivity” featuring Masaka Kids Africana, “Blessings,” and “Spread Hope Send Love Around the World” have been submitted in several categories. These categories include Best Global Music Performance, Best African Music Performance, Best Global Music Album, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
On the other hand, Chameleone’s acknowledgement stems from his collaboration on the track “Ready,” where he joins forces with Shatta Wale, Morgan Heritage, and Romyjons. This collaboration has been submitted in two categories: Best Global Music Performance and Best Music Video.
Voting members of the Recording Academy will have until October 20 to cast their votes, and the official list of nominees will be unveiled on November 10. The 66th Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 4, 2024.
Being considered for a Grammy Award is a significant milestone for any artist, as the Grammys are universally recognized as one of the highest honours in the music industry.
