South Africa-based Ugandan socialite and businesswoman, Zari Hassan and her husband Shakib Cham Lutaaya, are set to tie the knot this week on Tuesday, October 3.
The widely-circulated white and gold wedding invitation bears the message: “Zarinah Hassan and Shakib Lutaaya cordially invite you to share in the joy and celebration of their wedding day.”
The exact wedding venue is yet to be disclosed, but the festivities will commence at 12 noon.
Zari and Shakib officially began their relationship in 2022. They formally became husband and wife in May of this year, participating in a Nikkah ceremony that was attended solely by their immediate family members.
Notably, Zari requested a Quran as her bride price during their union. In an interview on NTV, she explained her choice, saying, “I have had everything I have ever wanted in this world… so for me, I only asked my husband for a Quran because I’m trying to strengthen my faith as I am a Muslim too sometimes. He was even surprised when I told him that.”
She also shared that her children, who initially had reservations about her relationship with Shakib, eventually warmed up to it, seeing how close and happy the couple was. They even asked Shakib to ensure that he takes good care of her.
The upcoming wedding marks another milestone in the love story of Zari Hassan and Shakib Cham Lutaaya, as they prepare to celebrate their commitment in front of a wider audience.
