Singer Sheebah Karungi has revealed that her initial plan was to hold a Yolo Festival and bring in an international star for her concert. However, she had to change her plans when the international star demanded an exorbitant fee that didn’t make sense for her financially.
“After giving it some thought, I came up with the idea of a music battle. I approached Dr. Lawrence Muganga, the Vice-Chancellor of Victoria University, and he accepted my proposal,” Sheebah explained during her After Battle Party at Serene Suites Hotel in Mutundwe.
Sheebah clarified that the battle was not meant to determine who was superior between her and Cindy Sanyu. Instead, it aimed to showcase the growth of the Ugandan music industry, capable of attracting a large audience.
It’s worth noting that Sheebah initially announced her Yolo Festival concert at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. However, a week later, Cindy asserted that she had also secured the same venue for the same date as Sheebah. Shortly afterwards, it was revealed that the two artists were set for a musical showdown.
Last Friday, the Kololo Independence Grounds witnessed an epic showdown between two of Uganda’s top female artists, Cindy and Sheebah. The event generated significant excitement on various communication platforms in Uganda, living up to its high expectations.
