In a recent shake-up of their administrative team, Uganda Premier League record-holders Sports Club Villa have appointed retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Asan Kasingye as their new spokesperson.
Kasingye, a former Executive Committee member of the club, rejoins the executive ranks just in time for the upcoming season, bringing with him a wealth of experience garnered during his tenure as Chairman of Police FC.
In addition to Kasingye’s appointment, several other key changes have been announced within the club’s leadership. William Nkemba has stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer, taking over from Isaac Mwesigwa, who had a brief stint in the position before departing.
Furthermore, the club has made significant changes to its vice-presidential roles. Sam Mubiru is now the Vice President of Technical, while Hajji Salim Ssemmanda takes over as the Vice President of Mobilization and Fans, succeeding Ben Misagga in this capacity.
As the new season dawns, SC Villa is on a quest to secure their record-extending 17th league title, having narrowly missed out on the championship last season.
They kick off their campaign this Friday against newly-promoted Kitara FC at Wankulukuku, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting season ahead.
