Ivan Okello, a 21-year-old security guard attached to Tiger Security Group, has been arrested by the Kaleerwe Police during an operation aimed at dismantling suspected criminal networks within the area.

Okello, along with his companions, was discovered participating in gambling activities during the early hours of the morning. Upon the police raid, Okello quickly removed SIM cards from his mobile phone and swallowed one of the cards in an attempt to conceal potential evidence.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rogers Musana disclosed that the officers successfully recovered the other SIM card from Okello’s mouth.

ASP Musana elaborated on the matter, stating that the recovered SIM card will be instrumental in the pursuit of critical information.

Musana stated that a faction of young individuals has recently been causing distress among Kaleerwe’s residents, perpetrating crimes such as residential break-ins and street robberies involving the theft of valuables, including smartphones, bags, and laptops.

He further clarified that the operation was orchestrated to ensure the apprehension of the suspects involved in these criminal activities.
