Uganda’s Women’s National Netball team, the She Cranes, have delivered a commanding performance, triumphing over Wales with a resounding score of 73-56 at the ongoing 2023 Netball World Cup held in South Africa. It’s Uganda’s first win against Wales.
Right from the start, the She Cranes showcased their prowess, boasting an impeccable 100% scoring accuracy in the first quarter, securing an early three-goal advantage.
The team’s momentum continued to surge in the second quarter, extending their lead to a formidable nine goals.
The third quarter witnessed the She Cranes’ flawless accuracy expanding the gap even further, leaving Wales trailing with a substantial 17-goal deficit. Mary Nuba emerged as a standout player, showcasing her scoring prowess with an impressive tally of 42 goals from 44 attempts before her exit at the end of the third quarter.
The She Cranes maintained their dominant lead through the final quarter, ultimately sealing their victory with a final score of 73-56.
The She Cranes are poised to face off against hosts South Africa on Thursday at 5pm. The team is fighting to secure a place among the top six teams.
