Kitara FC, the newly promoted team in the Uganda Premier League (UPL), has unveiled Shafiq Raiven Magogo as their latest signing.
Shafiq, who is the son of FUFA boss Moses Magogo, has committed to a two-year contract with the Hoima-based outfit, which will run until 2025.
Shafiq’s football journey has been characterized by dedication and hard work. He began his career at Edgars Youth Team, showcasing his skills as a forward.
He then progressed to the KCCA FC junior team before earning a spot on the Kibuli SS team, where he continued to excel.
Shafiq transitioned into a midfielder and showcased his talent at the national level, representing Uganda in U15, U17, and U20 teams. Notably, he played a role in the U17 team’s success, leading them to victory in the CECAFA U-17 tournament.
Before his move to Kitara FC, Shafiq plied his trade for Synergy in the Futsal National League and UPDF FC.
This new chapter in his career sees him reunite with Kitara’s head coach, Brian Ssenyondo, with whom he previously worked at UPDF FC for two years.
