Businessman shot dead, car stolen

John Luwaga, a renowned businessman in Semuto Town Council in Nakaseke District has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen.

The incident happened on Saturday at around 11:00pm.

According to preliminary reports, the assailants made use of Luwaga’s own vehicle, a Toyota Wish, as their getaway car. The stolen vehicle enabled them to swiftly flee the scene of the crime.

The motives behind the shooting remain unclear, and the police are actively investigating the matter.

Sam Twineamazima, the police spokesperson for the Savana Region, addressed the incident, stating, “In addition to taking the life of Mr. Luwaga, the suspects also seized his car. Our dedicated team of investigators is currently present at the crime scene, working diligently to uncover the reasons behind this tragic murder.”
