Double Champions Vipers SC have summoned their head coach, Alex Isabirye Musongola, to appear before the disciplinary committee on Thursday due to his sudden disappearance from his role.
In a letter addressed to Isabirye, club CEO Simon Peter Njuba expressed concern that the head coach had not reported for duty since July 5th, 2023.
“You have consistently absconded from your work and duties as head coach since July 5th, 2023, without any authorization from your employer,” the letter stated.
Furthermore, the letter mentioned that despite a formal request from Isabirye’s immediate supervisor on July 7th, 2023, he had failed to return to work. These actions have had a detrimental impact on the team’s preparations and training.
Rumours emerged last week suggesting that Isabirye, who joined Vipers SC in March of this year, was contemplating resigning from his position as head coach. It is worth noting that Isabirye successfully guided Vipers to their first-ever cup double, securing both the Uganda Premier League and the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
