The UMA Multipurpose Hall was abuzz last Friday as the highly anticipated fourth season of Madrat & Chico’s Nseko Buseko comedy show took the stage, marking their first performance since 2019 and the COVID-19 pandemic. With the generous support of Uganda Waragi, the dynamic duo delivered an unforgettable evening of laughter and entertainment.
Organized by Talent Africa, the show surprised the audience with hours of comedy from unannounced acts, ensuring each performance, apart from the hosts, was a delightful and thrilling surprise. The crowd was treated to uproarious sets from renowned comedians such as Bizonto and Salvador, who also served as the show’s charismatic MC. Madrat and Chico captured the audience’s laughter and admiration with their well-coordinated stage production, incorporating captivating visuals through multiple outfit changes (at least three times) and clever use of props like straw hats, a unicycle, and a throne.
The comedic duo also engaged the audience, playfully teasing high-profile guests like Kampala Central MP, Hon. Muhammad Nsereko, for leaving them with meager tips, all in good spirits. Another highlight of the show was the hilarious collaboration between Madrat and Chico and the Fun Factory comedy troupe, as they shared the stage with the likes of Phillip Luswata, Dickson Zizinga, Isaac Kuddzu, and Teacher Mpamire.
Adding to the festivities, Uganda Waragi, the event’s sponsor, set up a fully-stocked cocktail bar staffed with professional mixologists, serving guests unique and refreshing cocktails throughout the night.
Hillary Baguma, the Brand Manager Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), expressed his pride in witnessing Ugandans enjoy the country’s finest comedy talent. He stated, “Our support for Madrat and Chico exemplifies our commitment to promoting and celebrating everything that is authentically Ugandan, bringing our consumers together through comedy.”
Uganda Waragi will continue to accompany Madrat and Chico on their Nseko Buseko comedy tours, spreading laughter and joy across various locations throughout the country.
