Ronald Kyeyune, a resident of Bugembo village in Kayunga district, has dragged his newlywed wife, Annet Kyazike to the police, accusing her of stealing various household items.
Kyeyune, who works as a spare parts dealer, claims that despite being married for only four months, he has noticed the disappearance of several belongings, including bedsheets, a bucket, and a flask, and he suspects his wife is responsible for these thefts.
In addition to the missing items, Kyeyune alleges that his wife also took Shs200,000 in cash that he had kept at home.
In response, Kyazike admitted to taking the items, explaining that she did so to gather funds for her medical expenses. She expressed frustration with her husband, accusing him of being stingy and not adequately providing for her needs.
During the police inquiry, Muhammad Ssebuliba, the Kayunga Police Community Liaison Officer, mediated the situation. He urged Kyazike to apologize to her husband, which she did. However, Kyeyune remained resolute in seeking restitution and demanded that his wife either pays him Shs500,000 or faces imprisonment for her actions.
