The Uganda Cranes have experienced a decline in their global standing, slipping three places to reach the 92nd position, according to the latest FIFA Rankings released on Thursday.
Previously, in the rankings issued on April 6, 2023, the Cranes held the 89th spot in the world. However, their recent performances have contributed to the downward trend.
One of the significant factors behind the decline was their 2-1 defeat to Algeria in an AFCON qualifying match held in Cameroon earlier this month. Additionally, the Cranes suffered a 1-0 loss to the Democratic Republic of Congo in an International Friendly preceding their defeat against Algeria.
Among the African nations, Morocco, the World Cup semifinalists, claimed the top spot in the rankings, followed by African Champions Senegal.
On the global stage, the reigning World Champions, Argentina, continue to hold the coveted position of the top-ranked nation in the world. They are closely followed by France and the five-time world champion, Brazil.
