Mrikatete Michelle crowned Miss Tourism Tooro Region

Tooro region has joined the ranks of regions unveiling their beauty queens for the upcoming Miss Tourism Uganda Grand Finale pageant. Mrikatete Michelle, a 23-year-old from Kabarole district, will proudly represent the region in this year’s competition.

The coronation took place at the scenic Mountains of the Moon Hotel in Fort Portal, the Tourism City. Among the contestants, Mrikatete Michelle emerged as the deserving winner of the Miss Tourism Uganda Tooro Region title. Karungi Cynthia secured the first runner-up position, while Nyagoma King claimed the second runner-up spot.

The nationwide search for Miss Tourism Uganda began several months ago, with various regions participating in the selection process. The culmination of this journey will be the National Grand Competition scheduled for September 9, 2023, at the Kampala Serena Hotel. Contestants from all over the country will gather to compete for the coveted crown of Miss Tourism Uganda 2023.

The theme of this year’s Miss Tourism Uganda is “Greening Tourism,” highlighting the importance of sustainable practices and environmental conservation within the tourism industry.

The pageant aims to raise awareness and promote responsible tourism in alignment with preserving the country’s natural treasures.

Mrikatete Michelle, as the newly crowned Miss Tourism Uganda Tooro Region, carries the responsibility of representing her region with grace, while also championing the cause of environmental protection and sustainable tourism practices on the national stage.
