KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso stepped down from his side following his 1-0 defeat to Soltilo Bright Stars in the Stanbic Uganda Cup at Kavumba on Sunday.
Byekwaso’s side has been winless in four games in all competitions.
“I have taken my decision to go. I have resigned because I see player-power in my team,” said Byekwaso after the game on Sunday.
Reports indicate that Byekwaso was at loggerheads with senior players at the club.
“I can’t continue facing such. We train well and give each player a role, but once a player doesn’t respect that, it brings disorganization in the team,” he said.
KCCA FC is currently second on the Uganda Premier League log, having collected 38 points from 19 matches. They are five points below leaders SC Villa who have played two more games.
Byekwaso took charge of the Lugogo-based side in July 2021 on a three-year contract. He replaced Mike Mutebi. During his tenure, the club has not won any domestic cup.
