The Minister of State for Finance & Planning, Amos Lugoloobi, has been remanded to Luzira Prison until April 20 when he will return to court for his bail application hearing.
This morning, the minister was arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court presided over by the acting principal senior Grade One Magistrate, Ebert Asiimwe and charged with the diversion of iron sheets meant for vulnerable communities in Karamoja.
The minister pleaded not guilty.
Lugoloobi applied for bail but the magistrate said he needed more time to peruse through the documents his lawyers had submitted to the court.
His bail application hearing will be on April 20, 2023, at midday.
Lugoloobi was on Friday arrested and detained at Kira Division Police. He becomes the second minister to be charged for involvement in the iron sheet scandal.
