When people talk about “Rolex” in Uganda, one of the last things we probably have in mind is a luxury watch.
This is because the “Rolex” that we are familiar with is a snack made of chapati and eggs.
Police in Gulu are holding a chapatti maker accused of stabbing his customer to death in a heated disagreement over Shs1000.
According to the police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the deceased, who is a resident in the area ordered a rolex costing Shs1000 from Emy’s Chapati Point and later failed to pay.
“This later resulted in a fight. The suspect, who is the operator of the chapati stall, had a knife, so he severally stabbed the victim and killed him,” said Enanga.
The suspect is under police detention as investigations continue.
