As the Uganda Cranes resume the 2023 AFCON qualifiers campaign, it’s now confirmed that the Cranes will play its home game against neighbors Tanzania in Egypt.
Uganda will host Tanzania at Suez Canal Authority Stadium on March 27 before traveling to Dar es Salaam four days later to play the return leg.
It should be noted that the Cranes have been using St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende as their home ground for the AFCON and World Cup Qualifiers.
However, FUFA president Moses Magogo said the stadium is ineligible to host international games. Mandela National Stadium is under renovation.
Uganda is in Group F alongside Algeria, Niger, and Tanzania. Currently, the Cranes seat rock bottom with a point, Niger has two points while Tanzania also has a point.
The team will enter residential camp on Wednesday, March 15 at Cranes Paradise Hotel, Kisasi before traveling to Bundibugyo on Friday.
