U20 AFCON 2023
Group B
Congo vs Uganda
Suez Canal Authority Stadium
Kickoff: 8 pm (EAT)
As they take on Congo Brazzaville this evening at Suez Canal Authority Stadium, the Uganda Hippos will be hoping to earn a spot in the quarterfinals of the ongoing U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Hippos, who won (2-1) their opening Group B game against Central African Republic, need just a win to automatically qualify for the quarterfinals.
Head Coach Jackson Mayanja said the boys are ready for the next challenge.
“Winning our first game was important but we believe the second game is equally important for us to stand a chance of progressing to the next level,” he said in the pre-match press briefing.
Meanwhile, Congo also beat South Sudan 2-1 in their opening game.
It should be noted that the four teams that reach the semifinals will qualify for the FIFA U20 World Cup.
