Police spokesman Fred Enanga has revealed that former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi’s private bodyguard, Geoffrey Onzima, is in police custody after the National Unity Platform leader said he had been abducted by the armed men in casual wear.

According to Enanga, Onzima has been on their wanted list and was arrested by CID detectives for causing grievance to controversial, and outspoken ruling national resistance movement activist Ivan Kamuntu Majambere during the burial of Sulaiman Jakana Naduli last year.

On October 24, 2022, a section of NUP supporters clashed with the NRM group at the burial of the late Sulaiman Jakana Nadduli at Kadunda Village, Nakaseke District, leaving Majambere and others injured.
