Over the weekend, reigning Olympic 5,000-metre gold medalist and two-time 10,000-metre world champion, Joshua Cheptegei, visited Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu.
The Ugandan athlete was welcomed by Real Madrid’s Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, who joined him on a tour in order to witness the transformation of the stadium, before presenting him with a personalized jersey with the number 1 on the back.

Meanwhile, Cheptegei was in Madrid, Spain, for the San Silvestre 10 km road race, which he won in 29:09.11.
Mohamed Katir El Haouzi from Eritrea came in second, crossing the finish line at 29:19.01, followed by Ramos Jesus Reviejo from France at 29:49.06.
