Ugandan Chef Mama D breaks world cooking record

Mama D

Ugandan chef Dorcus Bashema Kirabo alias Mama D, has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest cookathon this morning. This accomplishment surpasses the recent record of 119 hours and 57 minutes set by Irish chef Alan Fisher.

Alan Fisher, in turn, had surpassed Nigeria’s Hilda Baci, who set her record at 93 hours, 40 minutes, and 11 seconds from May 11th to 15th, 2023.

Mama D boldly accepted the challenge, commencing her cooking marathon on December 23. As of the compilation of this article, she has been continuously cooking for an astounding 122 hours, 31 minutes, and 56 seconds.

While extending her cooking time, it’s worth noting that Mama D has prepared 114 meals during this marathon.

However, Mama D’s official recognition as a Guinness World Record holder awaits the submission and review of evidence to the Guinness World Records, a process that typically takes a couple of weeks. Once validated, Mama D’s extraordinary achievement will be officially acclaimed on the global stage.
