Ugandan man on the run after alleged same-sex incident

Serunkuma Trevor, a Ugandan citizen, has reportedly gone into hiding after being discovered engaging in same-sex activities with another man in Kisasi-Kulambiro, Nakawa West. The incident happened on September 28 of this year.

The incident, considered a violation of Ugandan laws, has compelled Serunkuma to go into hiding in fear of severe legal consequences and the angry residents of Kisasi.

The anti-homosexuality law, signed into effect on May 26th by President Yoweri Museveni, includes provisions for the death penalty for specific same-sex acts, particularly those deemed to potentially spread HIV. Other clauses within the legislation mandate lengthy prison sentences for activities such as “promoting” homosexuality or providing accommodation to a gay couple.
