Richard Kavuma Mulimi, a businessman in Muduuma, Mpigi district took an unusual step by faking his own death to gauge the depth of care and affection within his family and social circle.

Kavuma devised a plan where he enlisted the help of a friend to call his wives, children, relatives, and close friends, conveying the fabricated news of his demise.

As the news spread, people hurriedly gathered at his residence, expecting to find a bereaved family and mourning friends. To their astonishment, they discovered Kavuma alive and well, ready to host a celebratory event.

However, Kavuma was disheartened to find that some of his wives and friends did not respond to the distressing news.

“I have been quite generous and supportive, but it appears my efforts have not been fully appreciated. Faking my own death was a way to uncover those who genuinely care and love me,” Kavuma explained.

He went on to disclose that some individuals were visibly upset to find him alive.

“It seems that some people are eagerly waiting for my demise because they were irritated to find me sitting in my home, very much alive,” Kavuma said.

Looking ahead, the businessman expressed his intention to focus his attention and care only on those who rushed to his side upon hearing the news of his ‘death.’
