Who will be the next Uganda Cranes head coach? FUFA opens applications for the job

FUFA boss Moses Magogo.

The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has announced the commencement of the application process for the Uganda Cranes coaching positions and support staff. This development was announced through FUFA’s official social media channels.

In a statement, FUFA declared its intent to hire competent and qualified technical personnel to fill various roles within the Uganda National Senior Team ‘A,’ known as the Uganda Cranes. The available positions include Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Goalkeeping Trainer, and Strength and Conditioning Coach.

FUFA’s statement emphasized that these positions are open to both Ugandans and non-Ugandans, with former holders of these roles also eligible to apply.

Interested individuals are invited to submit their applications to vacancy@fufa.co.ug from September 16th to September 22nd, 2023.

This decision follows FUFA’s recent dismissal of Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic from his position as head coach of the Uganda Cranes. The decision came in the aftermath of the national team’s failure to qualify for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to be hosted in Ivory Coast.

Micho, who had returned for his second stint as Cranes head coach, had previously achieved a historic milestone by guiding the national team to qualify for the 2017 AFCON, ending a drought of 39 years.
