Uganda’s young talents Ibrahim Kasule and Frank Ssebufu, playing for New York Red Bulls II, have been named in the Uganda Cranes provisional squad for the decisive match in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Kasule and Ssebufu have been making waves in the MLS Next Pro League, donning the New York Red Bulls II jersey. The duo’s remarkable performances on the field have been a testament to their dedication since joining the team earlier this year, having transitioned from their previous club, Wakiso Giants.

Head Coach Milutin Sredojevic alias Micho, has rallied a 33-man Uganda Cranes squad for intensive preparations. The players are set to enter a residential training camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisasi, beginning August 28, 2023.

Uganda will face Niger on September 7 at the Grand Stade Marrakech in Morocco. Positioned third in Group F with 4 points, the Uganda Cranes have a chance to qualify. Victory against Niger, combined with a defeat for Tanzania at the hands of Algeria, would secure Uganda’s qualification.
