Events promoter Andrew Mukasa Alfonso, commonly known as Bajjo Events, has revealed new insights into the controversy surrounding the cancellation of the Nkwacho Festival. The festival, initially scheduled for the 27th of this month at Buloba Forex Park Resort, faced an unexpected halt when singer Alien Skin made the decision to call it off.

The festival’s cancellation came in the midst of allegations that promoter Abbey Musinguzi, alias Abitex, sought to undermine Alien Skin’s involvement.

Bajjo, who shares a close association with Abitex, took to social media in a live video to talk about the situation. He revealed that the roots of the conflict between Alien Skin and Abitex were deeply entrenched in a financial disagreement.

The singer had requested a substantial sum of Shs100 million for his participation in the Nkwacho Festival.

Attempting to reach a middle ground, Abitex provided Alien Skin with an advance payment of Shs10 million as a booking fee, along with an assurance to deliver the remaining amount. However, tensions escalated as the festival dates drew nearer, yet the outstanding balance remained unsettled.

In response to this perceived breach of trust, Alien Skin made the move of cancelling the event. The singer’s explanation for this drastic action centered on his unwillingness to engage with individuals he deemed to be attempting to exploit him.

Although the Nkwacho Festival has been abruptly terminated, Alien Skin hinted at the possibility of relocating the event to a new venue, promising to share further details in due course.
