Just a day after the celebration of his 30th coronation anniversary, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi has made changes within the Buganda government.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Charles Peter Mayiga has been retained as the Katikkiro, the prime minister of Buganda Kingdom. Twaha Kaawaase and Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa have also been retained as the first and second deputy premiers.

Kaawaase, in addition to his deputy premiership, takes on the portfolio of administration and ICT within Buganda. Meanwhile, Nsibirwa maintains his multiple responsibilities, not only as a deputy premier but also as the minister for finance within the Mengo government.

Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule continues his tenure as the speaker of the Lukiiko, the Buganda parliament, alongside Ahmed Lwasa, who assumes the position of deputy speaker. Christopher Bwanika retains his post as the Buganda Attorney General.

Among the prominent retentions, Noah Kiyimba, David F.K Mpanga, and Joseph Kawuki continue to serve as ministers for cabinet, lands and properties, and local government, respectively.

Cotilda Nakate Kikomeko, formerly chairperson of the Buganda Kingdom Education Committee, now embarks on a new role as the minister overseeing social services and the office of the Nnaabagereka.

Mariam Nkalubo remains in her position as the minister for self-help, environment, water, and gender, alongside Israel Kazibwe and Robert Sserwanga, who uphold their roles as ministers for information and mobilization, and youths and sports, respectively.

However, the reshuffle has also brought about certain changes. Henry Ssekabembe Kiberu and Dr. Prosperous Nankindu Kavuma, who previously held the portfolios for youth, sports, recreation, and social services, respectively, have been excluded from the cabinet.
