Liberty Uganda, Turaco Insurance Brokers introduce ‘Afya Plan’: Empowering Ugandans with affordable health insurance plan

Liberty Uganda and Turaco Insurance Brokers Limited, have announced the launch of an insurance product named “Afya Plan” under the slogan ‘Your Health, Your Way’. This revolutionary and affordable insurance plan is specially designed to provide individuals and families with a safety net during unforeseen challenges, granting them peace of mind in times of uncertainty.

The Afya Plan offers a lump sum payout in various situations, including hospitalization for three-plus nights and diagnoses of critical illnesses such as stroke, heart valve replacement, Aorta surgery, Valvotomy, coronary angioplasty, stenting, cancer (stages 1-4), kidney failure, major organ transplant, and total incapacitation, among others.

Danish Mohammad Iqbal, the CEO of Liberty Life Assurance Uganda, expressed his enthusiasm about the launch, emphasizing the product’s commitment to providing reliable and accessible protection to customers, empowering them to face life’s uncertainties with confidence.

Highlighting the plan’s exceptional coverage, Joseph Almeida, the Managing Director of Liberty Life Assurance Uganda, pointed out that the Afya Plan goes beyond traditional insurance by addressing specific needs and offering financial support during challenging times, such as critical illnesses, disabilities, or the loss of a loved one.

In a testament to their dedication to meeting the evolving needs of customers and securing their financial well-being, Hamza Mutebi, the General Manager of Turaco Insurance Brokers Ltd, expressed delight in collaborating with Liberty Life Assurance Uganda and sharing the vision of providing innovative and reliable insurance solutions to the people of Uganda.

The Afya Plan’s effectiveness and sustainability are ensured through comprehensive terms and conditions. Some key provisions include exclusions for active involvement in war, riot, civil commotion, nuclear, biological or chemical warfare, terrorism, attempted suicide, or non-compliance with prescribed medical treatment. Additionally, hazardous pursuits and pre-existing conditions are excluded unless explicitly agreed upon in writing.

The “Life” component of the plan includes provisions related to acts of foreign enemies, hostilities, criminal activity, radioactivity, nuclear explosions, and accidental death due to rioting or illegal acts where the deceased was directly involved.

The launch of the Afya Plan marks a significant milestone in the insurance industry in Uganda, providing individuals and families with a powerful tool to mitigate risks and ensure a more secure future. With its unwavering focus on customer well-being and financial security, the Afya Plan promises to be a game-changer for the insurance landscape in Uganda.
