In a dazzling event held at Las Vegas Hotel in Mbarara, Ayebare Restytuta emerged victorious as she was crowned Miss Tourism-Ankole on a chilly night.

The beauty pageant showcased the region’s finest talents, with Kulabako Sharidah and Ainomujuni Hopekins securing the first and second runner-up positions, respectively. With their sights set on the ultimate title of Miss Tourism 2023/2024, the winners will undergo intensive training at a boot camp later this year. The competition promises to be fierce as they represent Ankole and vie for the prestigious national crown.

The creative wear session during the event demonstrated the contestants’ dedication to showcasing the local culture. Using indigenous materials such as sisal and bark cloth, the contestants crafted striking pieces, while Masiela Fashion House contributed stunning dresses made primarily from African fabric. The judges were treated to an exquisite display of evening wear, further highlighting the contestants’ elegance and grace.

In a show of beauty and talent, Northern Uganda also crowned its Miss Tourism Queens 2023/24 representatives. Acaa Pamela was honoured as the queen of the Miss Tourism Northern beauty pageant, with Okello Genevieve and Angelo Juliet securing the first and second runner-up positions, respectively.

Come September 9, 2023, the crowned queens from different districts will gather at Kampala Serena Hotel under the theme “Greening Tourism” to represent their regions and compete for the prestigious national title. Notably, the franchise has expanded its regional selections to include Busia in Eastern Uganda, adding more excitement and diversity to the competition.
