Renowned journalist Patrick Mukasa has found himself in an unfortunate situation after he mistakenly purchased an exorbitant amount of airtime online.

Instead of the intended transaction, Mukasa accidentally acquired Shs1 million worth of airtime.

Expressing his frustration on Twitter, Mukasa reached out to Stanbicug for guidance, questioning whether the transaction could be reversed. Seeking assistance, he tweeted, “Stanbicug when someone accidentally buys airtime instead of mobile money on Flexipay, is there any way they can have that transaction reversed? Someone has bought airtime of 1 million instead of mobile money. Help needed. ??‍♀️”

Mukasa’s post garnered extensive responses from Twitter users, many of whom suggested that he consider venturing into the business of selling airtime.

Busingye Jose advised, “Get an mm stand and start selling airtime.”

Similarly, Sir Raymond offered Mukasa the opportunity to collaborate, saying, “Paatu, abo baveeko. I have space at my retail shop. Come, let’s start a mini-Mobile Money/Airtime shop. Free rent for the first two months.”

Twine Drew even proposed purchasing the excess airtime from Mukasa, offering to give him Shs600k in return.

Responding to the situation, Stanbic Bank apologized for the inconvenience and expressed willingness to assist. They replied to Mukasa, stating, “Good evening Patrick Mukasa, sorry about that experience. We can engage the telecom company to initiate the reversal. Please share your contact details in our inbox for further assistance. Thank you for choosing Flexipay. Have a great evening.”
