Vipers sign 33-year-old Brazilian striker Giancarlo

Vipers Sports Club have announced the signing of Brazilian striker Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez, making him the first addition to the Venoms’ squad in the current transfer window.

As confirmed by the club’s official website, the 33-year-old forward has committed to a two-year contract that will keep him at St. Mary’s Kitende until 2025.

Rodriguez brings with him a wealth of experience, having played for over seven clubs. He began his professional journey at Ferroviario in his home country during the 2012/13 season, followed by stints at EC Vitoria and Treza FC in 2014. His career has also seen him represent Villa Nova, Petaling Jaya City FC, PSM Makassar, Sheikh Russel, and União Cacoalense-Ro.

Joining Vipers as a free agent, Rodriguez arrives after the expiration of his contract with Brazilian club União Cacoalense-Ro.

Vipers have a history of bringing in foreign players, evident in their current squad, which includes notable players such as goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora from Burundi, Olivier Osomba from DR Congo, and Abubakar Lawal from Nigeria, among others.
