Audio: “Can you make me happy you girl?” Leaked phone conversation between female student and her lecturer who ‘wants a favour’ before he can make her pass his course

A telephone conversation between a female student and a lecturer has gone viral on social media, raising concerns about unethical behaviour in academia.

According to the Campus Bee website, the conversation allegedly took place between a student at the Institute of Survey and Land Management in Entebbe and a lecturer, who teaches the Land Management and Evaluation course.

In the recorded 4:02-minute conversation, the female student can be heard pleading with her lecturer to assist her in passing the course.

“Sir, what can I do? I have zero marks even for the coursework. Help me, and maybe I can take a test,” she says.

The lecturer responds, “I can’t do anything… There’s no time, and those marks are necessary. I genuinely want to help you.” He then asks if she is alone during the call.

She confirms, “I am alone in the compound near the administration block.”

Seizing the opportunity, the lecturer asks, “Can you make me happy, girl?”

The student hesitates, falls silent, and finally responds, “I don’t know, sir.”

The lecturer concludes the conversation by saying, “I will call you on Thursday when I am coming, and then I’ll see.”

It should be noted that the authenticity of the recording could not be independently verified by this website. However, it is important to highlight that numerous complaints have been raised by students from various higher institutions in Uganda regarding the prevalent issue of “sex for marks” over the years.
