Pastor Bugingo: Who are you not to forgive when God forgives us every day?

Pastor Aloysius Bugingo has expressed his disagreement with the Catholic Church’s decision to refuse a requiem mass for the late Kato Lubwama.

During the funeral prayers held at Kato Lubwama’s ancestral home in Nkozi, Mpigi District, Bugingo emphasized the importance of forgiveness, drawing parallels to God’s forgiveness towards us.

Bugingo posed a question, saying, “Shouldn’t we, as humans, forgive the deceased, just as God does?” He urged those in attendance to practice forgiveness while people are still alive, highlighting its significance in opening the doors to heaven.

Kato Lubwama, a renowned actor and former Rubaga South MP, suddenly passed away last week due to heart complications. However, his body faced rejection from St. Matia Mulumba Catholic Church, where a requiem mass was supposed to take place.

The Catholic Church justified their decision by claiming that Lubwama was involved in witchcraft and had publicly denounced Catholicism. In accordance with the church’s regulations, individuals who openly denounce Catholicism are not eligible for a Catholic burial.

The late Kato Lubwama will be laid to rest this evening at 4pm.
