Eddy Yawe, the elder brother of National Unity Platform (NUP) party president, Bobi Wine real name Robert Kyagulanyi has revealed why he holds no position within NUP.

Eddy Yawe was denied the nomination to serve as the flagbearer for the residents of Kira Municipality in the 11th parliament by NUP. The ticket was handed to former Kira Young Football Club boss Jimmy Lukwago.

According to Eddy Yawe, feelings that NUP was a family party made him change his mind about being active in the party.

“I don’t have any position in NUP, simply because there was that developing talk that we had turned the party into a family “thing”,” said Eddy Yawe while appearing on a local TV this morning.

Bobi Wine holds the top position in NUP while their eldest brother Fred Nyanzi is the party chairman for mobilization. Their other brothers Banjo Man, Mikie Wine and Dax Vibez among others are not into active politics.

Meanwhile, just like many NUP members and supporters, claimed that Bobi Wine won the 2021 general elections.

“But the results were just changed to favour the other side,” he said.

The Electoral Commission declared President Yoweri Museveni as the winner of the election after he gathered 5.85 million votes. Bobi Wine, who came second in the race gathered 3.48 million votes.

When questioned regarding the ongoing dispute between Bobi Wine and Bebe Cool, Yawe responded,

“Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine were good friends in the beginning and I even don’t know what ceased their relationship.”
