State Minister for Karamoja Agnes Nandutu has been given cash bail of Shs10 million by the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court.

Nandutu has been on remand at Luzira prison since April 19 after she was charged with dealing with suspected property meant for Karamoja people.

She was committed to the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court and her case file was allocated to Judge Jane Okuo Kajuga.

This afternoon, Judge Jane Okuo Kajuga was convinced by the defence team’s arguments in the bail application.

In her ruling, Judge Kajuga said that the issues leaned more on granting than denial of bail.

She granted the minister cash bail of Shs10 million and her three sureties bonded in Shs50 million non-cash each.

Nandutu is expected at the High Court on May 25, 2023, for the start of her trial.
