The Airtel Voice Singing competitions were launched recently with 5,000 entries and they have been eliminated down to 100 finalists.

The 100 contestants represent the 14 different African countries and only one winner will take home USD100,000 (about Shs370,000,000).

Among the 100, there are seven Ugandans who made it through to the finals and these will be unveiled in an event happening in Nigeria on Sunday at 8 pm.

NTV Uganda will broadcast the event live and it will be live on TV at 8 pm but at Nexus Lounge, it will be on a big screen.

The viewing is meant to bring together various supporters of the Ugandans to cheer them up virtually as they unveil them among the contenders.

The finalists’ unveiling will be the first season of the different episodes that will take us until the final winner of the competition.

At a press conference held yesterday at Airtel offices, located on Clement hill road, David Birungi, the Communications officer of Airtel Uganda said that the competitions are worth watching and supporting Ugandans is a must because we need to see at least one of the seven winners bring home the cash prize.

After the unveiling, there will be performances from various artistes and the confirmed artiste so far are Winnie Nwagi and DJ Slick Stuart who will be on the decks to play patrons’ favourite music.
