Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic aka Micho has named a 29-man provisional squad for the doubleheader against Tanzania in the AFCON 2023 Qualifiers.

Goalkeeper Salim Jamal Magoola and defender Joseph Ochaya are back in the squad after a long time.

Magoola, who plays for Richards Bay in the Premier Soccer League (South Africa) has been performing well as is one of the goalkeepers with the highest clean sheets in the PSL this season.

Ochaya, on the other hand, has had a phenomenal run with his Egyptian team Arab Contractors, scoring five goals and providing three assists.

It should be noted that Uganda will host Tanzania at Suez Canal Authority Stadium on March 27 before traveling to Dar es Salaam four days later.

First, the locally based players summoned will play a regional tour game against Kitara region next week.

The team will enter residential camp on Wednesday, March 15 at Cranes Paradise Hotel, Kisasi before traveling to Bundibugyo on Friday.

The foreign-based players summoned will join the rest of the squad in Cairo direct from their respective clubs.
