CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Vipers travel to Tanzania ahead of must-win game against Simba

Uganda’s CAF Champions League representatives, Vipers Sports Club have this morning left Uganda for Dar es salaam ahead of a crucial CAF game against Tanzania’s Simba SC.

The two teams meet just a week after Simba defeated Vipers 1-0 at St Mary’s Stadium in a tense CAF Champions League group C match.

The Venoms are winning less in three Group C games with two losses and a draw against Horoya.

Raja Casablanca leads the group with nine points, Horoya has four points, Simba has three points while Vipers seat rock bottom with just a point.

Ahead of the do-or-die fixture at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Tanzania on Tuesday, Vipers SC will be without captain Milton Kariisa, defender Murushid Juuko, and Bright Anukani.

According to the club website, Anukani will miss the contest due to malaria while Juuko is suffering from an ankle injury.

Disan Galiwango and Marvin Youngman are not part of the traveling squad.

Vipers SC squad to Tanzania

Goalkeepers: Alfred Mudekereza, Fabien Mutombora.

Defenders: Livingstone Mulondo, Hilary Mukundane, Isa Mubiru, Ashraf Mandela, Bashir Asiku, Enock Luyima.

Midfielders: Abdu Lumala, Siraje Sentamu, Olivier Osomba, Robert Serge Mwenge, Abdu Karim Watambala, Najib Yiga, Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye.

Forwards: Ibrahim Orit, Martin Kizza, Yunus Sentamu, Abubakar Lawal, Israel Desire Tety.
