Five school children rescued after suspected kidnap

The Central Police Station in Kampala intercepted a motor vehicle with registration number UBA 291C that contained five schoolchildren who were suspected to have been kidnapped.

The five children are pupils of Nymala Junior School in Kiteezi Wakiso district.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman, said the vehicle was intercepted this morning at 10 am at a checkpoint mounted by police at Kyagwe Road.

He adds that all the schoolchildren were safely rescued.

Also, the driver of the taxi, Ali Kiwanuka, was arrested and taken to Kitezi Police Station.
