Kanungu radio presenter who was seen being assaulted by her boss in a viral video claims that she was beaten because she demanded her Sh40k commission

Police in Kanungu has reportedly arrested Nelson Kagote Twinamatsiko, a manager at Kanungu FM for assaulting Anita Tumuramye, a female presenter at the station.

The station is owned by Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister for Information Communication Technology and National Guidance, and Kinkiizi East Constituency Member of Parliament.

The incident of Twinamatsiko was captured on video that has since gone viral.

Anita Tumuramye claims that Twinamatsiko assaulted her when she demanded payment for a school advert she brought to the radio station during an interview she gave to BBS TV’s Culton Scovia.

Tumuramye explains that she obtained the school advert on January 26, 2023, for Shs200,000, which was paid in cash. She also claims that she was entitled to a Shs40,000 commission under station policies.

However, she claims that Twinamatsiko refused to release her commission.

Tumuramye continues by saying that she returned after a while and attempted to ask Twinamatsiko about her commission; however, he slapped her in the face.

She says that Twinamatsiko dragged her to the ground while beating her.

She was able to get away, though, and find a place to hide before running to the police the next day.
