JOSE CHAMELEONE: I’m a superstar, not a celebrity

Legendary singer Jose Chameleone has asked media figures and music critics to stop listing him among the top musicians or celebrities, claiming he is in a league of his own.

Chameleone declared that he is a superstar, not a celebrity, in a television interview that aired locally.

The Ugandan music legend claims that, unlike other people who work so hard to learn how to sing and become famous, his stardom is inborn.

For starters, a “star” is normally someone who becomes famous by being talented at something, while a “celebrity” refers to any famous person who does not necessarily have to be talented at anything.

Chameleone’s remarks follow New Vision’s contentious ranking of the top 100 Ugandan celebrities for 2022.

Additionally, his hit song “Forever” came in first place on many lists of the top Ugandan songs of 2022.

On February 10, 2023, at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, Chameleone will stage a concert titled Gwanga Mujje.
