The world football governing body, FIFA, has announced that Morocco will host the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place from February 1st to 11th.
Morocco hosted the Club World Cup competitions in 2013 and 2014.
The annual tournament features clubs that have won the champions league of their respective confederation. Seven teams face off for the championship throughout a roughly two-week period.
Wydad AC will participate as the CAF Champions League winner and the host country’s league champion. Al Ahly SC from Egypt will participate as CAF Champions league runners-up.
In other developments, FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that the FIFA Club World Cup will comprise 32 teams from 2025.
