SMARI, a new institute that aims to skill students in an array of media and marketing courses has opened its doors with an offer of 300 scholarships for the first students to register.
“We are pleased to announce that SMARI Institute will be officially opening its doors to the public. SMARI- {Sales marketing, media advertising recruitment and internship} aims at empowering Africa’s youth, through innovative courses created to develop their skillsets for a better Africa,” a release from the instate reads.
“We facilitate opportunities for the youth regardless of background; to discover and express their abilities and skillsets through purposefully designed courses. At SMARI, we have over 20 courses including the art of public speaking, career transition, emotional and personal development, digital editing, and marketing, to mention but a few.”
The institute has selected reputable coaches in the field of media and journalism. “They are very innovative and experienced and thus will skill Africa’s youth for a better tomorrow. We have industry experts like, Andrew Mwenda, Aggie Konde, Tonny Otoa, Phillip Luswata, Dave Kazoora, Daniel Ibanda, Bart Kakooza, Joel Isabirye to mention but a few.
The scholarships have been made possible through the institute’s partnership with Motiv and Innovation Village.
On top of skilling, SMARI will also link people in need of services like emcees, deejays, video and production editors with talent. The service is available on their website www.smari.ac.ug.
