If the First Son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, formally announces his intention to run for president of the country, Doreen Nyanjura, the deputy mayor of Kampala, has vowed to be on the ballot for president in 2026.
The FDC National Executive Committee member said via her official Twitter account,
“If @mkainerugaba is standing for Presidency in 2026, I am contesting against him. My supporters (the Nyanjuraholics) have asked me to do this country a favour.”
Nyanjura added that they ought to set up a debate between Muhoozi’s supporters and those of her. Also, a debate between the two will take place.
It should be noted that Muhoozi has consistently made hints about his desire to run for president despite the fact that he is still an army officer, which is against Ugandan law.
