The people of Kyanja will not travel all the way to Kingdom Kampala anymore to watch comedian Patrick Salvador’s Just Comedy show. This comes after the comedian moved from Kingdom Kampala to Canary Gardens in Kyanja.
According to Patrick Salvador, the comedy show was launched at Kingdom Kampala but will go to Kyanja at Canary Gardens because he believes it is the time to give back to the people of his neighborhood in Kyanja in one way or the other.
“When I started staying in Kyanja, I was added to a Whatsapp group called Kyanja Neighborhood Watch,” Salvador said.
He added, “The group is meant for security, getting to know our neighbours and supporting our neighbours when it comes to business and, on top of all that, helping the less privileged people of Kyanja”.
During the lockdown, Comedian Salvador said many people died in his neighourhood and as people they knew, they had to come in as neighbours to help in organizing the funerals, among other things.
Speaking at a press conference at Canary Gardens on Monday, Salvador said that he will use his Just Comedy show and that every cent that comes from the show will go into the Kyanja Community Watch bank account.
Salvador said that the money might not be needed for use now, but in the future, if one of the community members needs help, they will be able to get it from the account and not call upon each and every one to contribute.
The show will start on September 8th at Canary gardens and will take place every Thursday with different comedians and artistes.
The first show will have performances from Salvador, Okello Okello, Emma Napoleone, Dr. Hillary, Madrat, and Chiko, among others. Entrance will be Shs20,000, Shs50,000, and Shs500,000 for a table of 8.
