This year’s Miss Tourism Uganda was launched at the National Museum with the theme “Rethinking Tourism.”
The launch was attended by former Miss Tourism queens, and during the launch, the organizers said this year’s search will cover 12 regions that include Ankole, Bunyoro, West Nile, Karamoja, Teso, Kigezi Buganda, Northern, Eastern, Busoga, Rwenzori, and Tooro.
The search kicked off in different regions a few weeks ago and so far, the regions that have crowned their representatives who will battle it out with other regions on the grand finale are Ankole, Bunyoro, West Nile, Karamoja, and Teso, with the next ones being Busoga on this Friday and Tooro on the 27th of this month.
The different winners in the different regions include Jane Murungi, the winner of the Bunyoro region; Claire Natukunda for the Ankole region; Lillian Ayot for the West Nile; Genevive Nakoli for the Karamoja region; and the new Miss Tourism Teso Mary Etilu Ariokot.
The reigning Miss Tourism Uganda is Susan Kahunde, who was crowned at an event that took place at Kampala Serena Hotel last year.
