Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has disclosed that they will officially announce the final presidential election results at 3 pm.
The electoral body has been camped at the national tallying centre, Bomas, finalizing the verification of the presidential results for the last couple of days after polls closed on August 9.
IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati is expected to announce the president-elect.
At press time, more than half of the results from Kenya’s presidential election are now confirmed, and the two main candidates are running neck and neck. Deputy President William Ruto has taken a slight lead over ex-Prime Minister Raila Odinga – 51% against 48%.
