The Soroti home of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) deputy president for eastern region Hon Anne Adeke, was surrounded and invaded by security operatives last night.
According to reports, police and military officers stormed MP Adeke’s home at around 11 p.m.
“Police in Soroti have broken into my house in Akisim. They have beaten, pepper sprayed, and arrested all my people. They started this at 11.30 pm and lasted until 00.51 am. The criminals in police uniform have taken my people,” reads a post on Adeke’s official Twitter handle.
FDC also claims that the security operatives invaded hotels and arrested their party president, Hon. Patrick Amuriat, several MPs, and polling agents.
“Security organs have also confiscated our polling materials from our hotels, Avipoint, and Elisha,” says FDC.
Meanwhile, constituents of Soroti City East have started casting their votes this morning. The biggest contestants are FDC’s Attan Moses and the ruling NRM’s Herbert Ariko.
